Taking Back the High Places

Summer Intensive Training Camp

1st to 18th of June, 2008

Santa Cruz, California

Phil & Maria Mason, Graham Cooke, Sean Feucht

Approximately 100 million people in the United States have now been influenced by New Age spirituality to one degree or another, ranging all the way from hard core New Agers to those who have merely embraced a couple of New Age concepts. The Postmodern mindset has affected nine out of ten people aged between 18 and 35. Our culture is in crisis and the church is confronted by the challenge to reach a generation that has been swept up in New Age spirituality and Postmodern relativism.

Do you want to get equipped so that you can be part of the solution?

We would like to invite you to a unique equipping event unlike anything that we have previously seen on offer to the body of Christ in the United States. Our goal is to take successful applicants through a two and a half week intensive journey of transformational interaction and impartation through teaching, evangelism, prayer, worship and ministry. The focus of this training event is to equip passionate disciples of Jesus to effectively respond to the crisis that we are currently experiencing in Western culture. The Postmodern mindset has almost reached saturation point in the West. The widespread rejection of absolute truth has permeated every aspect of our culture. Christianity has been relativised and marginalized as just one expression of spirituality amongst a broad range of spiritual options. New Age spirituality has become the spirituality of choice for many in the West and this has become one of the most prominent features of radical Postmodern culture. In the past few decades New Age/Postmodern culture has come to occupy the high places in Western culture and we believe the time has come to take back the high places! We are living in a season of extreme transition in the Kingdom and the greatest transition begins in our hearts as we take a hold of the vision of radical Kingdom ministry and learn to live at an entirely new altitude. God is equipping a new generation of warriors to join Jesus on the high places in the Spirit and to work with Him to reoccupy the high places in our culture.

The Instructors

Phil & Maria 01

Phil and Maria Mason are the Pastors of New Earth Tribe in Byron Bay, Australia. New Earth Tribe specializes in reaching New Age/Postmodern culture and is in its 10th year of effective ministry. Phil and Maria are also the Directors of the Deep End School [DES] which is entering its 6th year in 2008. ‘Taking Back the High Places’ is kind of like a mini DES in the United States for those who would like to do the entire DES but are unable to because of their circumstances. We want to take the best of the DES and present it in Santa Cruz, a big New Age stronghold, for an intensive equipping experience.

Graham Cooke

Phil and Maria will be joined by Graham Cooke, an internationally recognised prophetic equipper. Graham is based in ‘The Mission’ in Vacaville, California. He has a passion to see the emergence of prototypical expressions of the church that can take the Kingdom to sectors of our culture that are often bypassed by mainstream church culture. He is intensely passionate to see the church reoccupy the high places of spirituality in our culture. See Graham’s endorsement for this school below.

Sean 03

Sean Feucht is a passionate warrior who is the Director of Burn 24-7. He travels widely starting Kingdom fires all over the globe. He is a burning and shining light who imparts fire and passion everywhere he goes. He will be running a Burn event in Santa Cruz as part of the first week of this school.

Course Content

The school will be run in two parallel training tracks. Level One students will only participate in evening sessions whilst Level Two students will participate in both daytime and evening sessions. We want to create the opportunity for people who work full time during the day to still be able to come to part of the school. Level One will be a full program within itself. Level Two will add a whole other dimension to the training experience and will supplement Level One. Of course we are encouraging all students to do the entire program but we are realistic enough to understand that not everyone will be able to do the whole program. We have outlined the content of the two levels below:

Level One

There will be 2 x 75 minute evening sessions presented each night from Monday to Thursday. The first week will include Friday night as well. This makes a total of 24 evening sessions over 2 and a half weeks. The lectures will revolve around the theme of understanding, receiving and partnering in the Kingdom Ministry of Christ. We will explore the entire spectrum of what we call the ‘Seven Pillars of Kingdom Ministry’ revealed in Luke 4:18, 19. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18, 19) A solid foundation in the Kingdom Ministry of Christ is essential if we want to penetrate the fortress of radical New Age/Postmodern culture.

The two evening sessions will commence at 7 PM and 8:30 PM each night. We will finish by 9:45 PM each night.

Location

‘Taking Back the High Places’ will be held at the River Grove Resort in the mountains outside of Santa Cruz, California. River Grove Resort is located at 4980 Highway 9, Felton, California. The resort is a scenic camping ground with cabins on the banks of the beautiful San Lorenzo River that winds its way through the mountains. Surrounded by the Henry Cowell Redwood State Park, River Grove is set amidst stately old growth redwood trees and is the perfect location for an event of this kind. There are four cabins that will accommodate up to twenty students. There is also plenty of room for tents and RV’s so there are a number of accommodation options for the duration of this short term training camp.

Tuition and Accommodation Costs

We have a number of different options for participating in this training camp. It all depends on whether you are a Santa Cruz local who will be dropping in on a few lectures or whether you are coming from far away to do the entire school or anything in between. So we will outline all of the options so that you can choose which one suits your preferences. There are three components to this training event: lecture fees (tuition), accommodation and lunches. We will be having a catered lunch each day for the 13 days of training which will cost $80 per full time student. We wanted to have each student participate in a combined lunch in order to facilitate fellowship and discussion after the morning sessions. So check out which of the following options appeals to you.

Option 1 There are 20 positions available for full time students to stay in the cabins. This option includes all lunches, full accommodation and full tuition. The cost for Option 1 is $1000.00. The first 20 applicants will guarantee their position in one of the cabins. We have two cabins for guys and two cabins for girls. Two Cabins will accommodate 6 students per cabin and the other two cabins will accommodate 4 students per cabin.

Option 2  The second option is like the first but it does not include the cabins. Successful applicants can bring their own RV’s into River Grove Resort. We have negotiated a price with the manager of the camping ground and it is also $1000.00. This includes full tuition, all lunches and the cost of parking your RV on the property for the duration of the camp.

Option 3 The third option is for those who love camping! River Grove Resort is a camp ground where you can pitch your tent under the shade of the tall redwoods where it remains cool even in summer! This third option includes the cost of tuition, the cost of your campsite and your lunch fees. Because this is a public camping ground we need to consolidate our use of the allocated camp sites. Each tent site has a limit of up to 3 tents or 10 people per site. There is a shared bathroom facility at River Grove with 6 hot showers for the men and 6 hot showers for the women. The cost of option 3 is $600.00.

Option 4  We have made a couple of additional options for local folk who would like to attend the event without taking advantage of the accommodation and shared meals. Option 4 is to attend the entire school but you take care of your own accommodation and food. This option will cost $400.00 for the entire 50 lecture program.

Option 5 The school is divided into two levels. Level One consists of all the evening lectures only. To enroll for all of these lectures will cost $200.00.

Option 6 This option is for those who would like to attend the Level Two morning lectures only this level will also cost $200.00.

Option 7 The final option is to attend whichever lecture you would like and pay on a per lecture basis. Because the lectures in both the evening and the morning are paired into sets of two lectures we would prefer that people enroll for both evening lectures or both morning lectures. Attending two lectures will cost $25.00.

Food

For those applicants who choose one of the first three options they will be paying for their lunches up front in their registration fees. This will be a catered lunch that will be supplied to all full time enrolled students each day for the 13 days of lectures. Students will be able to take care of their own breakfast at the River Grove Resort. They will have access to a fridge and a food preparation area. We will not be providing evening meals. There are a number of great places to eat in Felton and Scotts Valley and we encourage the students to eat out together each night.

Endorsements

Graham Cooke

“I am excited to play a part in the Deep End School in Santa Cruz this June ’08. I have known Phil Mason for many years and count him as a dear faithful friend; a fellow traveler in the Spirit and a warrior/leader in the clash between two kingdoms.

Taking Back the High Places is a prevalent theme in Scripture. Reclaiming our own inner territory is of paramount importance. We cannot take ground from the enemy, if he has ground in us. In our freedom we get to release others. We partner with the Lord in opening up new territory, new places in the Spirit. We learn the favor of the King as we step out in Kingdom business. We learn the language of heaven and the weapons of our warfare.

As always, with any Deep End School, the aim is to touch the Nature of God; taste the powers of the Age to come and move in the glory of God’s Presence. Come if you dare. Come if you are serious about developing a life in Jesus. Don’t come if all you want to do is observe. This is not T.V. It’s the life you’ve always wanted. Count the cost and get in the game. See you there!” - Graham Cooke

Sean 04

“This Mini Deep End School is intense training for serious lovers of God to be equipped to become a vessel through which God can change a nation and release His revival in this hour. I highly recommend everyone to attend this school. Desperate times call for desperate measures of training and impartation and there is an urgency in this hour for the Kingdom of God to be revealed on the earth so that “All of humanity may seek the Lord!” (Acts 15:17) It’s time to rise up and get equipped to shake the nations and see a beautiful collision of heaven invading earth! Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to unite as a community of believers to experience worship, intercession, impartation and a release of the very heart of God so that it may be revealed to our generation.” - Sean Feucht
